Digital camera buying advice

Digital cameras have evolved tremendously over the years and continue today have features that you were otherwise used only by professional professional cameras. Today's digital cameras have a rule about an arsenal of additional functions that make it also an amateur pretty easy to shoot good photos. But which digital camera is now right for me? This question is probably a lot of people, when it comes to making a purchasing decision.

Obviously, the wide range of digital cameras, which are available for purchase and can be confusing and difficult, after all, there are a lot of factors that play a role when it comes to choose the right camera. To leave the choice to not be an ordeal, the following checklist should bring some system in the proper selection of your next digital camera.

Probably the most important factors when choosing a digital camera is surely the resolution of the images, the zoom and the lens, the size of the camera and the storage capacity. Consider these points in a bit more detail ...

Why do you need the digital camera?
Before falling to the technical data, you should first consider where, how and when your digital camera is used. For occasional snapshots on vacation or the next garden party, you do not certainly define reflex camera. Here is probably a compact camera is attached.

Pixels / resolution
The number of pixels is for many people one of the most important factors in choosing the camera and the producers know this too. It is advertised with more megapixels to be better qualified than the competition. But what does the number of pixels from really? Most probably think that what it says about the quality of the images. That's not quite but. For a very different factor is much firmer, namely the quality of the lens, and the lens. The number of pixels is more critical when the size of the images. If your pictures just on the computer at home look, or the best photos may want to print in A4 format, then reach around 5 megapixels from perfect. More megapixels do not need, unless you want advertising posters from your photos in creating ;-).

Memory
When it comes to memory, there are two important points to note. First, the capacity, on the other hand, the writing speed. Similar to CD's memory cards have different writing speeds. The bigger the write speed, the faster the images are stored on the chip. Especially in the photo series can (multiple images which are taken in quick succession) or video recordings be crucial. With the size, and storage capacity is similar, as the number of pixels. Many people think the bigger the better. That's true but only partially. Just imagine this: You shot a memory card with 8 gigabytes and 1000 images already on holiday and at once breaks the chip. All images are gone and lost forever. My advice: Do prefer to 2-3 memory cards up to 4 gigabytes. That way you minimize the potential loss if a card get damaged or lost.

Zoom lens and
One important and often not so acclaimed is the zoom factor, or the lens of the camera. With digital cameras distinction is usually between optical and digital zoom, which should rather be neglected latter. The digital zoom makes namely nothing more than the information contained in an image pixel "inflate" to make the image appear larger. But which has at extreme magnification means that the image quality suffers. More important is the optical zoom, is retained in the full pixel count. The lens is another crucial factor that should be considered in any case. The lens is as it were the eye of the camera represents the better the lens, the sharper and clearer the picture. A camera with a very good lens and say 5 megapixels, makes better pictures than a camera with a cheaper lens and 10 megapixels.

With these basics should purchase your new digital camera to fall a little easier. Think about each item, what you really want or need. Have fun snap.
